Hi, I’m Dean.
Pittsburgh-based photographer
I hate getting my hair cut.
This is a problem because, in spite of my explicit wishes, it continues to grow. The ‘bad haircut’ is a universal experience most people have had at one point in their lives, which can be boiled down to one of the following three scenarios:
You simply get a bad haircut. The stylist either misreads what you wanted or simply doesn’t have the skill to give you the look you want.
You get a great haircut, but there is no connection with the stylist. While this seems fine initially, keep in mind that you are trapped in a barber chair for minutes, sometimes hours on end. Even if you received the perfect cut, do you really see yourself going back year after year?
You receive both a bad haircut and it is a painfully awkward experience. You decide to never get a haircut again, renounce all personal grooming, and live the life of a recluse in the Canadian Arctic tundra.*
*Honestly sounds kind of nice?
